Legacy Counseling is licensed and proud to serve clients in Tennessee and California!
Let’s talk about modern convenience…
An unexpected work crisis develops, and there is no available time to drive across town to make a last-minute appointment.
No problem. Telehealth is there when you need it.
Your therapist is truly a text, phone call, or zoom session away.
Kids home sick from school, and you’re anchored at home? Never fear!
Through the medium of Zoom or telehealth conferencing – you can keep your appointment and still be nearby to tend to those aches and pains.
Unexpected traffic flare-up got you down?
With Bluetooth technology, you can cruise safely and hands-free through stopped traffic or pull calmly into a parking lot and stay on your therapy schedule without skipping a beat.
There are many ways we do teletherapy with clients.
Sara* has laryngitis from last night’s football game and can schedule a chatroom style live typing session with her therapist while sipping her soothing herbal tea in her favorite Titans football mug.
Jason* has a family emergency take place while on a business trip. He can email, text, and Zoom with his therapist and communicate a plan of self-care all from the comfort of his iPad.
Trevor* can no longer transport himself independently and needs a high-tech therapy arrangement that allows him to connect with his clinician from his desktop computer at home.
How do I get started with telehealth?
All you need is a phone, a tablet, a computer, or a landline.
If you have a strong Wi-Fi signal, you are a great candidate for video chatting. If an Internet connection is not easily accessible, a phone session may be your best fit.
If you can make a phone call, text a friend, record a personal video, or email a neighbor, you can do telehealth!
Multiple professional apps are available at no cost to you.
Most recently apps like Zoom, VSEE, and Duo have brought teletherapy connectivity to the next level.
With clear high pixel imagery and high-speed streaming, video chat sessions have become a safe and convenient alternative to in-office visits, especially when social distancing is a concern.
Teletherapy isn’t for everyone.
It’s a good idea to test your phone line with your therapist ahead of time to ensure you have good sound on both sides of the call.
If Wi-Fi is strong at work but not at home, you may need to be picky about setting up live video or chatroom sessions outside or in your office.
It’s not pleasant to have an important session interrupted due to connectivity difficulties and poor sound.
Also, attention span. As convenient as telehealth is, sometimes we need to be in a shared space to feel comfortable and connected with our therapist. If you lack the willpower to complete online tasks without roaming, a face-to-face session will likely be more beneficial to you to block out distractions more fully.
You do not have to struggle anymore.
You are tired of facing your challenges alone. You need help coping with sadness, anxiety, and grief of past heartache.
You’ve tried to handle it on your own, yet your pain is undeniably real.
I have solutions to your questions, and I am eager to work with you. I offer a free 15-minute consultation for us to determine if we are a good fit.
If I can’t service your needs, I can refer you to someone who CAN!
